New York SAFE Act Resistance Grows

Many New Yorker State residents have been up in arms, since their state legislature passed the SAFE Act of 2013 in the dark of the night with little to no time for their legislators to read the bill. It didn’t take long for town meetings to become, shall we say, heated over the topic.

I know New York doesn't have reciprocity Georgia, but with a New York girlfriend, I’d say I have a vested interest in the Second Amendment movement in The Empire State. So, I've been watching what has been happening since the Act was passed.

One website cropped up that has been pretty handy to monitor the counties and towns that are working against the SAFE Act. If you’re a New York State resident, or like me with an interest in New York, you should check out this site to see where your county or town stands in relation to the Act.

About a month ago, they posted a map of the counties that have proposed or passed resolutions against the SAFE Act.

This is what the map looks like now. Top this off with the injunct from the NYS Supreme Court, and I think the month of April is going to be pretty interesting in New York State.

Be safe.
